TODAYS WORK

4/17/2000

Todays work consists of a pipe I made from a block I rejected for Molly s pipe special order ( yesterday s work). Tom Bahder asked me what was the "secret" of getting good grains. I replied that it was very helpful to have a large supply of blocks to choose from to match pipe and grain to. I first cut a sliver off this block to expose the grain and rejected it for Molly s pipe, as it was tight but too fine for such a small pipe and wouldn t show up well except on a large design. The block looked very good and I came up with a Castello-esque shape that I thought would go with the grain on the block. Here are the results:

This pipe is available in the Unique Bent section of the web catalog as UB227
