John's Pipe

Today s work consists of a special pipe for a very good friend, John Hayes. John runs John B Hayes Tobacconist in Fairfax, Va. and has been involved in the pipe business for 30 years. John and his wife Kathy and son Matt came for a visit this weekend after a day at the Newark Pipe show. He s helping me rig out a fishing boat and of course we spent some time fishing on the Susquehenna River for small mouth and on the Upper Delaware for trout....... just to try the boat out.

As a small token of my gratitude for all the help he s given me I decided to make a pipe for him. I saw him smoking a medium size Castello bent billiard with a diamond shank. I decided to copy it and just beef it up a bit so it would be suitable as a fishing pipe. Never knowing how a pipe will turn out, all I can say was I got very lucky!

Here s the pipe:

I finished up a couple pipes that Curt blasted last week. These are available thru the web store.
