TODAYS WORK

12/22/2000

Today s work consists of a special order that I didn t quite get right. I liked the shape I was working on and made slightly three pipes varying the stem and ferrule work. All three are available on the web catalog. The pipe is supposed to be a graceful curved shank rounded bull dog. Didn t get enough curve in the shank but nonetheless the design, supplied by the customer still came out well even tho not exactly what he was looking for. The first pipe is a two star straight grain Pristine finish:

UB 263

The second pipe is along similar lines but I used a regular stem inset into the ferrule instead and a Cabernet finish.

UB 265

The third pipe I did away with the ferrule and used a tapering saddle flush fit stem . It had a couple sand pits so I decided to make the first virgin coral/natural smooth pipe.
