TODAYS WORK

1/21/2001

Today s work consists of one pipe. Having caught a cyber- cold from Greg Pease yesterday my activities have been limited to sleeping and this one pipe. This is the second pipe out of a large block I cut into for something else a long time ago. Judging by this one it must have been pretty nice. I originally finished this as a natural but upon discussing with Greg decided to try the new red and gold stain. The pix have gotten sharper but now I can t seem to get the contrasts between the colors of the pipe which are more distinct than the camera shows. Any suggestions? This pipe available on the web as :

UB 272

Pipe as a natural :

As you can see the light highliting stain really brings up the grain. Pipe grades out as a Size 6 ,Pristine, 4 star.
