Todays work consists of four pipes I did for the fun of it. The day before I worked on 3 Hexagon Calabashes that will be blasted in the future and I needed a break from such tedious pipe making. These pipes are listed on the web catalog. Four very different shapes but certainly in the classic vein.
Size 4, Pristine, 1 Star
( If this pipe lasts a day I ll be surprised)
(really nice flame grain and birdseye)
Size 6 , Cabernet, 1 Star
Squat Bulldog, thick walls
Size B, Pristine
Calabash (2.5" Tall x 6.75" long)
I guess it s the time of the year to play with new stains. I started working more in Browns with Linwoods Christmas pipe last week. I did a Brown & Gold on yesterday s volcano, the pipe above has the same finish. UB 322 has the Brown & Gold but with a dark understain that was taken almost completely off. I really like that one but as a triple stain it s a lot of work ! UB 324 is sort of a Brown Cabernet, I think I like the red version better.
