Today s work consists of three special orders and a pipe for the web store. The first I was purposely given very little direction in order that I come up with a design of my own . The pipe order began many months ago when Tom Solomon answered a post I had made concerning old tins of Navy Flake tobacco. He was kind enough to purchase 6 tins for me. Rather than accept payment he asked that I put it towards making a special pipe for him which I was finally able to today. He was quite happy with the results and I m really happy with the tobacco !

The next pipe was also a special request. The customer wanted
a Size 4 Black & Tan with the carving to be from the bottom of the second
ring around the bowl only. What a marvelous piece of briar this is and would
have been a beautiful straight grain if not for the carving.
The last two pipes are 1/4 bent Pokers. As I often do , on a special order, I make a couple at one time, hoping for one to qualify. The order was for a Size 4 B&T and I got it on the first pipe. This is a shape and finish I ve made previously:
