Todays work contains one special order and some pipes made during the summer for the web store.
The first pipe (s) is for David Dobos. He ordered an 03 Christmas Coral, an 02 Tanblast and wanted me to make up a Castello #55. I had never seen this shape before so it was interesting to make. Here are some pix of the Corals:
This next pipe I made while a friend and her daughter were visiting. I took the 8 year old into the shop and said want to see how a pipe is made? I got lucky and made this as she watched. Afterwards I asked her if she wanted to try doing a little sanding. At the time I had my Rad Davis pocket piece in my pocket and I showed it to her. The amazing thing about the RD pocket piece is that as long as I have it in my pocket it s always there for me . I showed it to her and told her about it s amazing properties and she wanted one for herself. I quickly cut a little square of scrap briar. It must have taken the 8 year old 3 minutes to sand, granted I changed the wheels..... the staining and polishing took another 2 minutes..... I told her some people are selling these on the Internet for $95. Her eyes grew bright with thoughts of future riches.....
